Disclaimer		No guarantee of success is possible. The only recommendation I can give is that all these macros worked as they should in the circumstances in which I (and often others) have tested them. Please work on copies of your files.

Selection criteria		I have not been restrictive in selecting the macros shown here. I am impressed by the number of folk who wish to start writing macros or to improve their skills. So I have included, for example, macros that do not do very much or have restricted application, because they are easy to understand and/or because they contain ideas that others may develop further.
Using the macros		a) To download, just click or double-click the link (or right-click and choose Save), and unzip the file to a macro directory. If you currently have no unzip facility, check for example the free stuffit. A Google Search will find alternatives. b) Then Edit it - most macros need you to set them up to suit your system; many allow other options to be chosen also. Most macros have an explanatory introductory section. I am never sure how much detail to include. If you think that the detail is clearly insufficient or overwhelmingly extensive, please feel free to comment. c) You are welcome to use, copy, modify as you wish. It will be pleasant if in macros you develop you acknowledge any special routines you found here.
Updating		Most of these macros run regardless of WPO version. A very few may hiccough in WP8, and in earlier versions more very likely will. Some more extensive macros need to switch between apps; then the macro looks for a match with the text in the Title Bar of the target app; this may vary between versions. As this becomes apparent, I edit the macros. If you see an error message involving AppLocate, then the macro needs editing. Please use the link in the macro file to report the situation, or any other similar problem. Note that when you Save, or the first time you Play a macro you may see warning messages. These are not error messages, and may be noted and then ignored.
Browser choice		I have kept the site mostly text-based, for speed, especially for folk on metered access. I can set up Opera, Mozilla or Firefox so as to view comfortably all the text. Using Internet Explorer 6 I find that sometimes I need to adjust View|Text Size, which affects all text, so that later I may need to revert to the earlier setting. Firefox provides very acceptable performance; Opera offers all sorts of extra tricks. IE does show the text, which I guess is the main thing.
